Attending the morning handover.
• Taking patient history, performing relevant clinical examinations, making differentials and formulating a management plan.
• Attending the ward round; presenting cases and noting down the orders.
• Following orders from the rounds. This included the following:
* Small procedures like blood sampling, IV cannulation, NG tube or urinary catheter insertion.
* Clerking.
* Making drug charts.
* Monitoring vitals
* Requesting imaging scans.
* Chasing reports.
* Making discharge summaries.
* Answering phone calls
* Documenting everything in patient files.
* Counseling the attendants regarding care at home.
• In the ER we worked in teams led by a Consultant I had the opportunity to see a wide range of
patients with medical illnesses. To name a few – Ac. coronary syndrome, Heart failure, DKA, Stroke, Meningitis, Pneumonia, Asthma and COPD
exacerbation, Upper GI bleeding, Gout, Ac. Renal failure, Gastroenteritis, Electrolyte Imbalance, Poisoning and overdose, other Infectious and
Haematological diseases.
• I had the opportunity to do patient consultations, clinical examinations, drug prescriptions and the basics of formulating a
management plan.
In the OT, I observed major surgeries and assisted in minor surgeries. I learnt stitching and suturing along with surgical techniques used in open
and laparoscopic surgeries.
• Attending patients in the recovery room and ICU.

• Post-op wound care including dressing and drains.
• Counseling the patients and attendants regarding wound care at home.
Here,I am actively involved in the care and management of covid as well as non- covid patients.I was posted in the Intensive care unit for COVID 19 and my duties involved in-patient ICU rounds, ICU on-call

I was able to improve my clinical skills by dealing with the pandemic and it's management.I could also improve my procedural skills by gaining expertise in blood sampling,ABG, intubation etc.I also provide good patient -care and keep a track of the patients.I am enthusiastic and keen on becoming a safe doctor. The role requires management of cases from different super-speciality departments like cardiology, nephrology, gastroenterology, neurology etc. during the 4hrs duty in
ppe, i learned how to manage covid-19 cases as per new guidelines and protocols. Learning ventilator settings , assisting intubations as well as doing minor procedures boosted my confidence in dealing with the new pandemic. I am proud to have been a frontline health worker in my country in these challenging times
I have worked under a consultant in the Department of Nephrology for about 5 months in the dialysis unit of rajagiri hospital which was a joint commision international (JCI) accredited hospital. I was closely involved in monitoring and management of 40-50 outpatient dialysis cases Here ,I was also involved in ward rounds as well as on-calls ,where I managed emergency nephrology cases with the aid of my consultant.
