Proximus is one of the best service providers in Telecom domain in Brussels’. The services provided are Landline, TV (Fixed Line Services – FLS), Mobile Communication Services (MCS) and Internet Services (SKYNET). The main function of the service is to collect and cleanse the data from various sources and store in Data Ware House (DWH). The data from DWH is used for building data marts (MSS) and reporting (Microstrategy) purposes used by business.

Responsibilities:

• Investigating Data quality, Performance issues and fixing the bugs occurred in the production environment and providing the on-call support and suggesting code level changes if required.
• Handling the data loading into DWH (MCS), In case of failures, analyzing the root cause and provide the possible solutions and providing minimum of 96% data availability to customer daily within ITIL/SLA.
• Quickly act on various Data quality issues like Duplicate data, Numeric Overflow, Bad Character, and other issues like Connectivity issues, File missing issues and Performance issues like No room in Database, Spool space, Deadlock and etc.
• Writing the Oozie Workflows to retrieve data different sources using Sqoop, loading data from files to Hive tables, Unix scripts, Loading data from Hive to Teradata and vice versa.
• Creating tables, views in Teradata and Hive, according to the requirements.
• Performing bulk data load from source to Teradata RDBMS using BTEQ, MultiLoad and Fast Load.
• Performing tuning and optimization of complex SQL queries using Teradata Explain and responsible for Collect Statics on FACT tables and troubleshooting performance issues while loading into Hive tables.
• Performing the Tuning of sources, Targets, mappings and SQL queries in transformations designing, creating and tuning physical database objects (tables, views, indexes, PPI, UPI, NUPI, and USI) to support normalized and dimensional models.
• Automate the status mails and reduce manual effort which is put in daily.

Environment and components: UNIX, PLSQL Developer, TERADATA , Informatica 10.1.1, HDFS, Map Reduce, Hive, Oozie, Sqoop, Kafka, Spark, Maestro.
