As a part of Fast Data Platform team at Adidas, responsible for maintaining the Apache Kafka Framework,
Developed a CLI GoLang application singlehandedly to automate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) calculations and generate reports for stakeholders within our platform.
- Implemented functionality to generate daily usage and cost metrics, which are now visualized in Grafana for stakeholder analysis.
- Reduced the monthly task of generating reports from a two-hour manual process to a few minutes using a simple CLI command, resulting in significant time savings and improved efficiency.
Spearheaded the development of an AsyncAPI solution to consolidate Kafka assets (topics, schemas, producers, consumers, etc.) belonging to a single namespace.
- Transformed fragmented data previously stored in Confluence into a unified AsyncAPI hosted on SwaggerHub, providing stakeholders with a centralized platform to view and interact with all assets.
- Empowered stakeholders to directly access and manipulate assets, eliminating the need for ticket submissions to the support team for each change request.
- Streamlined collaboration and decision-making processes by offering a comprehensive overview of namespace assets, fostering efficiency and agility in asset management.
Aside from this,
- Collaborated on stages of systems development lifecycle from requirement gathering to production releases for multiple projects.
- Updated old code bases to modern development standards, improving functionality, especially the legacy Go-Lang applications.
