During my tenure as an Executive Trainee at Hindustan Unilever, I had three distinct stints:
1. Etah: I worked in two manufacturing units. In the instant tea powder unit, I led a mass balance project. In another unit of tea packaging, I implemented a changeover time reduction project on a packing machine using the ECRS technique. Additionally, I handled shifts, participated in cultural programs, and gained in-depth knowledge of processes, including quality, manufacturing excellence, cost, end-to-end supply chain, and HR aspects.
2. Kolkata:In Kolkata, I worked in two units: a tea packing and blending unit, and an ice cream unit. In the ice cream unit, I completed my quality stint, focusing on two projects—eliminating foreign materials using checklists and improving hygiene engineering design in coordination with the factory and central quality teams. In the tea unit, I worked on manufacturing excellence by central lining the machine and creating an action plan to increase OEE by targeting various losses. I was also very active in cultural and team-building activities.
3. Hosur: I took sub charge as a Production Executive and gained an in-depth understanding of the coffee manufacturing process. I collaborated with the team on various audits, including CAD and FSSC. I also learned about digital models using AI and machine learning, process simulation based on VR, and instrumentation modules for industrial control systems. Additionally, I worked on various trials to continuously improve the process and support new product development.
