Project Description:

InfoLease is a lease accounting application developed by a company called IDS. Originally the application was developed on minicomputers running a combined OS/Database/Programming environment known as PICK. The application has run on the top of the PICK Emulation layer called UNIDATA. UNIDATA can run on either Windows or UNIX/Linux. More recently Linux is a popular choice, because of the low cost and ease of virtualization. InfoLease is a Character-based system, also known as a text-based user Interface (TUI) as distinguished from a graphical user interface (GUI) or web based.

Responsibilities:

• Understanding business requirements and functional specifications.
• Understanding the logic of complex Unibasic File system and converting into SQL queries with the usage functions and sub-queries.
• Designing Reports using Pentaho report designer tool.
• Publishing reports in IDS Web application.
• Unit testing reports using beyond compare tool.

Dedicated myself to gaining foundational knowledge in software engineering and its core processes. This brief yet intensive experience allowed me to grasp essential concepts such as software development methodologies, coding practices, version control, and teamwork dynamics. Embraced the opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals and applied my newfound insights to practical tasks. After one month of being an intern, transitioned to a full-time employee and an associate software engineer.
