Controlling complex dynamic systems requires skills that operators cannot fully explain but can demonstrate. Behavioral cloning is the process of using machine learning techniques to reconstruct skills from traces of operator behavior. The analysis includes the "cleanup effect" and the time lag between the state and the action.
