01.2022 - Current
- I led the migration of our legacy services to a NAWS-based architecture, and a complete revamp of UI. Additionally, I built two critical backend services from the ground up, designing both the APIs and the underlying logic for our core backend service.
- I took the complete ownership of design and development of the DecantWorkflowRecommendation System, responsible for recommending the most eligible workflow to a given client for decanting a container in a warehouse (FC). The Service was an important component for the successful launch of Amazon's state-of-the-art robotics fulfillment center SHV1 - Details - https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/operations/amazon-fulfillment-center-robotics-ai. Currently serving traffic from 20 FCs with plans to expand to 100 FCs.
- I took the ownership for design and development of the SmartChecker Decant tool which uses weight of a single item for accurately predicting the number of items to be moved into destination containers. This tool is comparatively much faster and efficient than the other tools available, since it eliminates the need for scanning every item. It is launched in more than 50 FCs, with plans to expand to more than 150 FCs.
- I was responsible for the complete implementation of a complex API responsible for recommending locations to Amazon Associates in order of priority for ensuring efficient stowing of items.
- I took the ownership of design and development of UI screens for multiple projects, had reviews with UX team and external stakeholders to get alignment, and received positive feedback from Amazon associates after the launch of tools in the FC.
- I conducted root cause analysis of many issues one of them being, regarding the high error rates for a Tier - 1 Service API which was causing frequent Sev2s. After implementing and deploying the fix worldwide, error rates decreased by 75-80%, and Sev2 ticket counts reduced by 10%.
- I took full ownership of scaling activities for a Tier-1 service during Prime Day and Q4 Peak planning at Amazon. This included tasks such as reviewing alarms and dashboards, calculating scaling factors, estimating TPS, conducting load testing, and managing host ordering to ensure optimal performance and reliability during high-traffic events.
