I gained experience in varied fields of law ranging from law relating to Information Technology, Real Estate and Telecommunications among others. My work included researching on various points of the law, market research, creating notes consisting of timelines on developments in certain relevant sectors and drafting brief notes for arbitration matters, reading the evidence furthered by the opposite party and assessing the validity of such evidence. In addition, I was also asked to observe the Criminal Bills proceedings and create a comparative analysis between the older draft and the new Bills.

  • Ranked 25th in the Moot Court Society inductions of the university in an exhaustive selection process consisting of close to 2000 applicants.
  • Ranked 23rd in the ADR Society inductions in an exhaustive selection process consisting of close to 2000 applicants.
  • Represented the university and adjudged as semi-finalists at the 30th edition of the M.C. Chagla Government Law College National Moot Court Competition, which remains the oldest and one of the most coveted national moot court competitions in the country today.
  • Participated and bagged several awards at numerous MUNs.
  • Chaired the committee at two MUNs.
  • Headed the MUN Club at Sishya, Adyar.
  • Placed 3rd in the BournVita quiz.
  • Participated in the CISCE (a national level board of school education) Football Regionals Tournament, where our team placed second and bagged a silver medal.
  • Participated at the national level Pre-Subroto Cup Football Tournament in which the team from our school represented our state at a national level.

  • Rotaract Club, JGU- Ex-member of the Rotaract Club of the University. The club is aimed at bringing together individuals from the university and creating a positive impact on the society we live in through initiatives such as blood donation camps, awareness campaigns among many others.
  • Moot Court Society, JGU- Inducted member of the Moot Court Society for this semester. Was among the select few to get inducted into the society after an exhaustive selection process consisting of close to 2000 applicants. As a part of the society, I represented the university at the 30th M.C. Chagla Moot Court Competition at GLC Mumbai where we were adjudged as semi-finalists
  • ADR Society, JGU- Inducted member of the ADR Society for this academic year. Was among the select few to get selected into this highly exclusive society. Having ranked 23rd in the university wide inductions, I have been chosen to represent the university at two international negotiation competitions namely: 1) The International Investor State Mediator Competition (IIMC) organized by the Moot Court Bench in Colombo, Sri Lanka; 2) The Transatlantic Negotiation Competition organized by Syracuse University, New York and Queens University, Belfast.

Publications

  • The freedom of speech and an ‘adolescent’ India in the editorial section of ‘The Hindu’.
  • Co-authored an article with Sr. Adv. Srinath Sridevan sir which got published in the editorial section of the largest national newspaper in the country, The Hindu. The article analyses the implication of the judgement of Kaushal Kishore v State of UP in the context of the freedom of speech by looking back and tracing the roots of this fundamental right. Community Service

  • I’ve taken part in numerous social projects from a very tender age. These include initiatives such as cleanliness drives, raising funds for orphanages and old age homes. One such initiative in which we raised funds by collecting old newspapers from the neighborhood got covered by a leading national newspaper, ‘The Hindu’.
  • My first internship was with Safai Karmachari Andolan, Chennai which is an NGO advocating for the rights of manual scavengers. The experience was an eye-opening one as I got to interact with the victims of this social evil and play my part in furthering their rights.
