PARTICIPATIONS

Intradepartment paper presentation: Conducted an experimental study on melamine-treated plastic- modified bituminous mixtures to enhance aging resistance and pavement durability. The project involved processing plastic waste at elevated temperatures, incorporating melamine powder, and preparing modified bitumen mixes with controlled aggregate proportions. Performance was evaluated through Marshall Stability, Indirect Tensile Strength, rutting resistance, moisture susceptibility, and fatigue life tests. Results showed significant improvements in strength, deformation resistance, moisture durability, and fatigue performance, with optimal behavior observed at 4% plastic content. The study demonstrates a sustainable and cost-effective approach to improving pavement performance while promoting plastic waste recycling.
