Responsibilities

· Installation, configuration and testing of SDH equipment’s with different capacities of STM’s (Synchronous Transport Module).

· E1 provisioning and integrating NE’s (Network Elements) into the NMS in coordination with NOC (Network Operating Centre).

· Supporting the deployment of Outside Plant teams.

· Coordination with NOC for restoration of network.

· Coordinating with various work groups and customers for service delivery.

· Conducting site acceptance tests.

· Monitoring of alarms and troubleshooting.

· Termination of cables and testing it using OTDR and using power source and meter.

· Environmental sensors testing and upkeep - for NOC to detect all alerts.

· Provide on-site smart hands & feet to support (for replacement of hardware, rebooting, jack-in, jack-out) for remote diagnostics;

· Labeling and tagging of patch cables, upkeep of cables, connectors, replacement of faulty cables and connectors;

· Periodic audits of all the sites, initiate and manage projects to fix defects;

· Ensuring reliable power at each site > A/C power, D/C power, MCBs, DG sets, trippers, redundancy of power feeds, testing of power feeds etc.

· Audits of equipment failures to determine root cause.

· OFC & equipment redundancy & diversity planning;

· Maintaining rack level physical inventory (powered devices) that includes SDH Mux, DWDM and Media convertors etc.

· Reducing Mean Time to Repair;

· Provide field support in capacity expansions and new network integration testing;

· Track and optimize operational expenses for site maintenance

· Ensure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and standards

Replacement of overhead telecommunication system with OFC and quad communication system in Shoranur –Nilambur section of Palghat Division in Southern railway

· Pre-execution Survey and Planning for the Proposed Projects

· Submitting documentation with proposed drawings for approval from Engineering, Electrical, Signal & Telecommunication Department

· Inspect all Quantity Aspects for Supply of Material.

· Handling Project Site Team

· Overall co-ordination for construction of Pre-fabricated Shelter, Electrical Wiring, Erection of Racks, Installation of Battery, Battery charger, SDH Mux, PDMux, DDF panels, Control telephones, Auto telephone, etc.

· Monitoring all Quality Parameters during project execution and Conducting AT.

· Achieve the Project Completion Target motivating the project team.

Preparation of All Project Documents and Billings

• Inspection and efficient maintenance of telecommunication equipment such as control telephone, auto exchanges, telephone repeaters , wireless installations, Coach display system, Public address System, Interactive Voice Response System, Optical Fibre System, Computer Communication, Train Radio Communication etc.,
• Execution of all works involving alterations to the existing installations, and installations of new equipment, its adjustment and connections
• Carrying out periodical tests on Quad cables independently as well as jointly with the other departments of railways.
