1. Worked on topic ‘Isolation, Screening and application of Feruloyl esterase’ under Dr Bragadish Iyer.
- The renewable resources of ferulic acid derived from phytochemical phenolic compound found in plants and their products were used. Feruloyl esterase hydrolysed the ester link between hydroxycinnamates and sugars.
- Feruloyl esterase was produced by using selected fungal cultures by solid substrate fermentation and submerged fermentation of ağrı waste, such as corn cob, sugar cane and wheat straw.
- Screening of fungal and bacterial cultures was done by plate assay method and Feruloyl esterase was determined spectrophotometrically.
2. Acquainted with PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction)
- It involves the primer mediated enzymatic amplification of DNA. DNA polymers is used to synthesise new strand of DNA complimentary to the given template strand.
- There are three major cyclic reactions conducted in thermocycler machine denaturation (at 94°C for 15 to 30 seconds). Annealing (54 to 60°C for 20 to 40 seconds). Elongation at 72°C.
