My surgical career incorporates 6 years of HPB and Liver transplant surgery training in United Kingdom which includes 18 months of Robotic HPB surgery fellowship. I have obtained my HPB and Liver transplant surgery fellowship at Kings College Hospital and Robotic HPB surgery fellowship at The Royal Marsden Hospital. The liver transplant surgery fellowship is accredited by the Royal college of surgeons of Edinburgh and the Robotic HPB surgery fellowship is accredited by the Royal college of surgeons of England. To add on to my expertise, I had the privilege to undergo 6 years of GI and HPB surgery training in one of the prestigious tertiary care centres in India after my MS general Surgery training. I was awarded MCh higher speciality in Surgical gastroenterology. During my Robotic fellowship, I had the opportunity to attend the LAELAPS 3 Robotic onsite proctorship program by Dutch Pancreas cancer group in Netherlands. I was able to achieve the academic and professional excellence in the medical field due to hard work, sincerity, and perseverance. I have published and presented in many international conferences. My flexibility and willingness to learn in a constantly changing atmosphere has given me an opportunity to work in some world-renowned hospitals. Due to my experience of working in wide range of hospitals with limited resources to well-equipped hospitals across the world has taught me valid lessons of effective utilization of the resources in the most cost-effective way.
Life in the UK offered me the novel chance of training in liver, pancreas ,renal transplant and robotic HPB surgeries. I took the opportunity and made the most of it to my best ability. Nonetheless, although I greatly enjoy the challenge and variety of Surgical career in United Kingdom, I also wish to simultaneously pursue my career, within a new venture of developing the liver transplant programme in Dubai, UAE. In doing so, this would enable me to implement my extensive clinical skill set and experience but also coincidingly develop and widen my experience within a different clinical environment, alongside a variety of experienced medical professionals and clinician’s. Developing and being part of liver transplant and Robotic surgery programme is a career-driven aspiration of mine and I strongly believe that my current experience and skillset would prove myself to be an exemplary asset to the Dubai Transplant programme as I strive to provide an outstanding streamlined clinical service in the field of Gastrointestinal surgery including Liver transplant surgery, Robotic HPB surgery and working to consistently uphold exceptional patient care, therefore reflecting the hospital in a positive professional manner.
