- Free camps were organized by Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The camps were organized every day in the surrounding rural towns to provide easy access.
- My duties included but were not limited to :
- 1.Taking symptom history and recent exposure status
- 2. Checking vitals and general physical exam
- 3. Referring suspicious cases to the hospital for further testing and treatment
- 4. Distributing medications and educating the patients on the importance of taking the COVID-19 vaccine and its benefits while dispelling any fears surrounding it.

- As an intern, I attended and worked at multiple medical camps with the purpose of making primary care more accessible to a wider and more vulnerable population in rural India.
- The camps were conducted biweekly and were attended by residents and interns of various departments of Mediciti.
- The main objective was to screen individuals for chronic conditions and educate the rural population about the importance of early detection and treatment in these conditions as well as placing referrals for higher level of care wherever appropriate.
- We also offered information to the population about the various resources available to them and how to use them.
- We educated young girls regarding menstruation and how to maintain good menstrual hygiene.
- We communicated the importance of vaccination of children to parents and encouraged them to attend the free vaccination camps organized by my college.
