We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in MySQL to design, implement, maintain, and optimize our database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of relational databases, query optimization, data security, and backup strategies to ensure the integrity and performance of our data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Database Design & Implementation: Develop and maintain MySQL databases to support business applications and processes.
- Query Optimization: Write and optimize SQL queries to improve database performance and efficiency.
- Data Security & Backup: Implement security measures, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
- Database Administration: Monitor database health, manage indexing, and handle data migrations.
- Performance Tuning: Analyze slow queries and optimize them using indexing and other best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers to integrate databases with applications and resolve issues.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation on database structures, queries, and procedures.
- Strong proficiency in MySQL and SQL queries.
- Experience with database normalization, indexing, and stored procedures.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies.
- Familiarity with MySQL Workbench, phpMyAdmin, or similar tools.
- Understanding of data security principles and user access management.
- Ability to troubleshoot database performance issues and optimize queries.
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell, or PHP) is a plus.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- MySQL certification is an advantage.
- Experience working with large datasets and cloud databases (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, etc.).
