- Data Technology defines how the information is used across the company, align the business practices and support the continued focus on great customer experience.
- Daily Task:.
- Code Deployment: Responsible with ownership for deployment of code of Abinitio, Datastage, UNIX Scripts and Autosys JILs as part of Releases/Installs for the applications in Data Technology.
- Tools utilized were Harvest, Anthill Pro, Jenkins and UDeploy.
- NDM (Network Data Move) Setups: Configures the EIW (Enterprise Information Warehouse) environment to establish connections between EIW NDM nodes and Source’s / Customer’s NDM nodes to enable transfer of data between them and assisting in their testing thereafter.
- Also, troubleshoots issues related to NDM failures.
- Autosys JILs Revie Reviews the Autosys jobs (JILs) to make sure that they are syntactically correct and following the set Standards of Data Technology before they are deployed to Production.
- Analyze the common/repeated errors committed by developers in the Autosys JILs and conduct sessions to them so as to improve the quality of the JILs.
- PDDT Requests: Extracting the data from either Production Database tables or Archive tapes and copying it over to the target non-production environments for Testing Purposes by Developers.
- Also, involved in the design of PDDT Process using Datamover by working closely with the Teradata DBA team.
- Logonmgr Setups: Configures logonmgr connection entries which store the logon information for the processes to connect to the database.
- Batch Processing Catchup: Supporting Catch up process whenever there were Teradata Upgrades/Expansions for the App Teams to resume their batch processing as early as possible.
- Idea save project: for Implementation team PDDT macro automation: Implementation services team in EFT-Data Technology receives PDDT (Production Data to Development and Test) requests on daily basis to copy table data from PROD to NON-PROD environment.
- Every table to be copied has to be updated in a standard macro with the PDDT number, source table information and the target environment.
- For some table copies, team has to update filter conditions too.
- Each request may contain single or multiple table copies.
- In case of multiple table copies, each macro is manually updated and executed on the SQL assistant.
- This consumes time and prone to error.
- Team developed a VB script within Excel sheet which restructures the data provided by user as Snapshot revie Implementation team works on all PROD and BCP deployment requested through CR/WO.
- Team has to review all the requested WO in our queue every day in our meeting.
- The WO checklist will have snapshot detail where we open each snapshot and check for few details before approving it to deploy in Prod, the checks are – version of the snapshot should be locked, component version should not have any build with warning and the version of snapshot should not be more than 13 build id.
- For each snapshot we check these points.
- Developing a script where once you input all the snapshot to a file and when we run the review script it automatically checks for all the above mentioned points and gives us the output, from where we can know which snapshot is good to go and which has to be rejected/rectified.
