I started as an associate at MD Logistics, which is a 3PL pharmaceutical shipping company that ships life saving medication to diabetic patients across the United States. Within the first year I was promoted to a Team Lead for our Parcel line. I was responsible for ensuring all SOP's were being followed while increasing production. This included hourly reports of picks per hour and investigating issues on why goals were not met. I was able to increase production by promoting teamwork and properly dealing with any issues affecting production.
Six months later on March 14th, 2022, I was promoted to Operations Supervisor for Parcel. My job responsibilities were managing daily operations for optimal performance, ensuring smooth workflows and timely completion of tasks. I also maintained open lines of communication with upper management to provide regular updates on operational progress and challenges faced by the team. I conducted regular performance evaluations for direct reports, identifying areas for improvement and setting development goals accordingly. I was responsible for ensuring payroll was completed in a reasonable timely manner. This included missed punches, PTO requests, and submitting approvals for HR.
In June 2024, due to hitting quarterly goals and increasing production and morale for my employees, I was transferred to Truckloads to learn a different department and develop more of my leadership skills. Not only was I able to make production more efficient, I was able to develop the Team Leads in that area and have them take on more responsibilities in their job duties that will help develop them in the future.
Job responsibilities included creating vinyl and metallic logos for trailer companies such as XTRA Lease and Premier. The team I was a part of made the final checks on these looking for damages, tears and other inconsistencies before shipping them off the get installed on trailers. I also assisted in training new finishers, ensuring proper understanding of job responsibilities and techniques for optimal performance.
