Electrical Engineer MRI R&D Hardware Components -Cabling & Cabinets

  • Certified Tester for IEC 60601-1 Compliance medical devices.
  • Significant contribution for Norm Compliance Lab Set up in HIC, Pune.
    Successfully completed Intertek Audits consecutively for 3 years, along with engineering responsibilities.
  • Lead team of 5 (Designers, Interns and norm compliance tester) and performed in-depth verification and compliance equivalent testing as per IEC 60601-1 (electrical and mechanical) of upgraded hardware cabinet for new MRI system yet to be introduced via NPI, which was first time in Pune, for qualification from Intertek.
  • Independently drove end to end selection of components, design, development, verification and production release for Life-cycle engineering, Productivity and quality improvement project activities in MR department.
  • Actively contributed to various cutting edge technology NPI projects of Philips MRI system.
  • Ownership of System level Cable design overviews, insulation diagrams, protective earthing for various NPI of Philips, ex: New MR workspace for Blue Seal technology Ambition system, MR, Ingenia Elition 3.0T (Ambient experience), MR Therapy systems, etc, with proven record of High-Quality Design deliverables and BOM Cost Savings achieved.
  • Knowledge of MRI Gradient cables, Fiber optics, Power Mains and Protective earthing, Coaxial cables interfacing with different modules in MRI system from technical room to exam room.
  • Lead engineer for Insulation diagrams, Cabling overviews, and Protective Earthing, Third party Certifying body - Intertek Submissions for Medical device certification as per regulations.
  • Defined magnetic component testing instructions for RF shielded, magnetic environment exam room to ensure no artifacts in image quality and safety of patient and operators during scan.
  • Took multiple initiatives and contributed to improve efficiency in process, optimize BOM and standardize system cabling, created new options cabling service manual instructions document for reducing time at installation site.
  • Coordinated design, tests and build activities between cross-functional teams
  • Supported System Engineer in troubleshoot complex electrical issues , fire incidences, smoke detector cabling installation efficiently by applying knowledge electrical engineering for CAPA or future projects.
  • Requirements Anlaysis, System and Sub system requirements usage for defining the component level requirements, Created Component specifications for Critical RF power cables, Skill in ALM , QlikSense, and Windchill PLM tools.
