• Global Expansion Project (GEP) - Contributed to Walmart’s cross-border commerce initiative by implementing key features that enabled US-based shipping to Mexico and Canada, including address validation logic, shipping eligibility filters, and product testing.
• Variant Selection using Item Real-Time Information (RTI) - Designed a smart variant replacement logic that identifies better candidates using RTI fields (e.g., availability, price, etc.), improving customer experience by replacing poorly selected Solr variants with more relevant options; integrated de-duplication logic for consistency across shell variants.

Project: SuperShell (Search Infra Optimization)

• Spearheaded the offloading of Variant Items from Apache Solr to a custom Java Search layer, significantly reducing Solr infra cost and memory footprint while maintaining query compatibility through Lucene-based filtering, aggregation logic, token formulation, and index analyzer testing.
• Engineered a BM25-based scoring algorithm combined with advanced query-time filtering classes to determine Winning Variants within item shells, ensuring accurate result surfacing across high-volume eCommerce traffic.

• Led a Solr Limit Evaluation POC to identify a cost-efficient, scalable Solr architecture capable of handling 1.6B+ items with minimal latency, backed by extensive performance benchmarking and analysis.
• Contributed to feature development and scalability enhancements in the search backend using Java and Spring Boot, improving reliability and search response times.
• Wrote comprehensive unit tests, conducted engine comparisons, and ran performance tests to ensure robust, production-ready code with high test coverage and minimal bugs.
