- I have been working on MyFlight project as a UI developer for almost 1.5 years. This app provides inflight information like seatmap, flight information, resolving inflight issues and keeping a track of the same. The intended end users are the flight attendants who use it for enhancing their inflight experience and to cater the customers seamlessly. This app is compatible with Note 3 and Note 5 devices and later worked on using ionic framework to make the app responsive with most of the devices.
- Designed newly introduced screens by creating Photoshop mock ups. A few options used to be proposed for the business approvals.
- Once the UX is finalized the UI development of the same starts and static pages are created using HTML 5, less css and bootstrap for responsiveness.
- The page is tested on various environment for its responsiveness. One of the major UI testing includes accessibility testing. It's done by changing screen zoom and font size from device's settings and the app content should still be readable for the flight attendants. To enable this particular feature to the user, technically the screen resolution was targeted in the making. And media query helped retaining the UI for the targeted resolution.
- One of the special feature available is night mode implementation which enables the user to check the app without the white glare of the screen when the cabin lights are dim. It comes with a day and night toggle button. The mixing feature of less CSS was used to make this screen change available.
- As part of getting the tech spec upgraded and to make the app responsive to most of the devices Ionic 3 has been introduced with angular 5. The use of Ionic UI has improved the page UI drastically without any extra coding in the css.
- SASS CSS helped in customize the existing Ionic UI as per the project specification. This css preprocessor also helps retaining the responsive nature of the app.
