1. Production Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on sales orders, forecasts, and customer delivery commitments.
- Break down the master production schedule into work orders for each department (winding, assembly, resin casting, oil-filling, testing, etc.).
- Prioritize production activities according to urgency, material availability, and customer deadlines.
- Prepare and circulate daily/weekly production schedules to all concerned departments.
2. Material Planning & Coordination
- Check Bill of Materials (BOMs) against inventory and raise material requirements to the purchase team.
- Follow up with the procurement and stores department to ensure availability of raw materials, consumables, and components on time.
- Minimize material shortages and ensure zero production downtime due to material unavailability.
- Coordinate with the stores team to maintain optimum stock levels (raw materials, WIP, finished goods).
3. Resource Allocation & Utilization
- Plan machine loading, manpower allocation, and shift scheduling for optimum utilization of resources.
- Coordinate with HR/Production heads to manage overtime, additional shifts, or contract manpower when required.
- Monitor machine capacity, preventive maintenance schedules, and downtime to adjust plans accordingly.
4. Production Monitoring & Control
- Track daily production progress versus plan and update management with status reports.
- Identify bottlenecks, delays, and process imbalances and take corrective actions.
- Ensure smooth workflow between departments winding, core assembly, resin casting, oil-filling, tanking, finishing, testing, and dispatch.
- Maintain close coordination with Quality Control & Testing to integrate inspection stages without delaying schedules.
- Ensure minimum WIP (Work-In-Progress) by timely movement of materials between processes.
5. Delivery Commitment & Customer Focus
- Monitor order-wise status and ensure on-time delivery of customer orders.
- Support dispatch planning in coordination with stores, logistics, and sales teams.
- Review customer-specific requirements (packing, labeling, documentation), and ensure readiness.
6. Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain production MIS reports (daily/weekly/monthly) including output, delays, efficiency, and rejection analysis.
- Prepare variance reports comparing actual vs. Planned production.
- Present key performance indicators (KPIs) like On-time Delivery %, Machine Utilization %, Rejection %, and Lead Time.
- Support management reviews with updated production dashboards.
7. Process Improvement & Cost Control
- Identify areas for process improvements, productivity enhancement, and cost reduction.
- Work on Lean manufacturing concepts, 5S, Kaizen, and waste minimization initiatives.
- Optimize resource usage (manpower, materials, and energy) to reduce production costs.
- Support automation or digital initiatives to improve PPC efficiency.
