ORAL MEDICINE

• Successful non-invasive management of oral mucosal diseases: reticular lichen planus, erosive lichen planus, desquamative gingivitis secondary to mucosal diseases, discoid lupus erythematosus, oral submucous fibrosis, leukoplakia, and erythroplakia using immunomodulatory drugs and antioxidant therapies as relevant.
• Successful invasive management of oral mucosal diseases—reticular lichen planus, erosive lichen planus, desquamative gingivitis secondary to mucosal diseases, discoid lupus erythematosus, oral submucous fibrosis, leukoplakia, and erythroplakia with intralesional injections, LASER photobiomodulation, LASER photodynamic therapies, and excision as relevant.
• Successful management of temporomandibular disorders: protective co-contraction, internal disc derangement (all stages), TMJ subluxation with non-invasive (TENS therapy, laser therapy, and phonophoresis) and partially invasive interventions (arthrocentesis).
• Successful oral management of medically compromised patients by prescribing palliative therapy in the form of analgesics and LASER photobiomodulation.
• Minor surgical excision of benign exophytic lesions, extravasation cysts, and sclerotherapy of benign inflammatory swellings.
• Administering care to patients diagnosed with and undergoing treatment for oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) in the pre-, peri-, and post-radiotherapy phases of the treatment by providing services of oral prophylaxis, fluoride application, odontoplasty of the sharp teeth, extraction of teeth with poor prognosis, and adjunctive palliative care for radiation-induced mucositis [in alignment with the recent clinical practice guidelines by the Mucositis Study Group of the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer and the International Society of Oral Oncology (MASCC/ISOO) {2007}].

ORAL RADIOLOGY

• Ability to perform intraoral periapical radiographs of the teeth.
• Ability to perform other forms of intraoral radiography: bite-wing radiographs and occlusal radiographs.
• Ability to perform all forms of extraoral radiography: orthopantomography, lateral cephalogram, postero-anterior cephalogram, antero-posterior view, postero-anterior view of the skull, submentovertex and jughandle views, and paranasal sinus views with ease.
• Assessment and interpretation of periapical and periodontal pathologies of teeth using intraoral periapical radiographs, orthopantomogram, and cone-beam computed tomography with lucidity.
• Assessment and interpretation of teeth, alveolar process, and bone fractures using Orthopantomogram and Cone-Beam Computed Tomography, with lucidity for the placement of Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF).
• Assessment and interpretation of bony lesions and tumors of the jaws using orthopantomogram and cone-beam computed tomography, with lucidity for surgical intervention.
• Assessment and interpretation of sinus pathologies using orthopantomogram and cone-beam computed tomography with lucidity.
• Assessment and interpretation of bone dimensions for the placement of endosteal, subperiosteal, zygomatic, All-on-4, All-on-6, and immediate loading implants using orthopantomogram and cone-beam computed tomography, with lucidity to provide a radiography-guided surgical guide.
• Assessment and interpretation of tooth canals for root canal pathologies and dimensions using Cone-Beam Computed Tomography, with lucidity, for successful endodontic treatment.

RESEARCH

• Conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis on acupuncture therapy as a treatment modality in the treatment of orofacial pain and headaches, in which I referred to extensive literature on the treatment modality employing different techniques: traditional Chinese and Japanese acupuncture, LASER acupuncture, and acupressure. My study was published in the Journal of the Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology (JIAOMR) on December 24, 2024.
• Conducted an in-vitro radiographic study assessing the accuracy of cone-beam computed tomography in making linear alveolar bone measurements for implant placement by comparing three competent, readily available 3D image analyzing software: iRYS, RadiAnt, and CareStream. My study was published in the Cureus Journal on June 11, 2024.
• Currently conducting a radio-morphometric analysis in the form of a cone-beam-based retrospective study on the risk variables associated with mucosal thickening in the maxillary sinus in the population of Eastern India. The study is in the channel for publication.
• Collaborated with dental researchers in assessing the antibacterial efficacy in orthodontic brackets coated with zinc oxide nanoparticles and comparing them with the silver copper hybrids. The article is published in the International Journal of Orthodontic Sciences in September 2025.
• Guided undergraduate research project tackling the knowledge of precancerous lesions among the undergraduate students of Bhubaneswar City. The article was published in the International Journal of Chemical and Biochemical Sciences. 2023
• Guided undergraduate research project tackling the understanding of the implant artifacts in cone beam computed tomography to facilitate feasible accuracy in assessment and measurement against the biggest drawback of the imaging modality. The article was published in the International Journal of Chemical and Biochemical Sciences. 2023
