Specializing in business development, brand identity, programme communication, consumer understanding, team management and strategic show creation
As the Programming Head of Big FM Mumbai, I was responsible for designing the content for the entire channel, keeping in mind the target demographics of the listeners.
I headed a team of brilliant RJs and producers and worked closely with the solutions and marketing teams. I think my experience here in creating brand driven content has helped me to have an even better understanding of the target audience.
· During this time, I created my own company Graffiti and led Graffiti to become a major production house in Kolkata
· At Graffiti, I gained major experience in both non-fiction and fiction shows.
· I also produced one of the biggest non-fiction shows on ETV Bangla: Byata Betir Battle, the battle of the sexes and created a successful Sunday afternoon slot.
· For Graffiti I also produced a feature film, Bari Tar Bangla in 2012. The film was a success in the box office and was critically acclaimed too.
· In 2013, I successfully met the greatest challenge in my professional career. I went off to Bangladesh for nearly a year to produce the country’s first Bangladeshi Idol. To produce a perfect internationally famous franchise show in a country where the infra-structure was still developing was truly an enriching experience. But we did it and how! Idol clips went viral in Bangladesh and is still the most talked about show.
· My stint with Black magic taught me the basics as well as nuances of audiovisual production.
· For ETV Bangla, we produced Rojgere Ginni, which went on to become the most successful non-fiction show in Bangla television ever. Rojgere Ginni remains a cult show with an entry in the Guiness Book of World Records as the longest running non-fiction show on television.
· For Zee Bangla, we produced Hau Mau Khau, which introduced Mir in entertainment television. It became a cult programme and is still talked about.
My first job taught me to understand and observe people. This came to use in understanding consumers in the later part of my career. I was entrusted mostly with Group Discussion moderation, because of my natural and easy going ways with people.
I must say IMRB laid the foundation of understanding customers/ consumers which helped me in a great way in the years to follow.
