RVI is a referral hospital for spinal pathologies covering a major area of northern and north east England. The spinal surgery unit is one of the busiest centres in UK for paediatric and adult spinal deformity correction
As a fellow my responsibilities were running spinal clinics with consultants as well as hands on participation in surgeries, pain procedures and ward rounds. I had to make presentation in the weekly MDTs and monthly morbidity meets. I also had the responsibility of participating in a rota of one in five on call for spinal trauma, infection or tumours.
