Responsibilities as a BO Admin:

As an administrator made a good understanding of the Business requirement from the upgrade, security prospective. Because of this I was responsible for handling below tasks:-

Migration of BO environment form BI 4.2 SP9 to BI 4.3SP2 patch 5 across DEV, STG and PROD env with below server configurations:-

• Tomcat:-10
• Web application Servers:-40
• CMS servers:-5

Maintenance activities for BO server

Implementation of Front end SAML SSO for using Azure/ping as idp

Configuration of 32 bit/64 bit middleware for TD, oracle on BO servers

Promotion of webi reports/universes

Adaptive Processing Servers (APS) Split using System config Wizard and Manually

Security migration/allocation activities like:-

• Planning
• Providing object level/universe level restrictions

Scheduling various publications and report schedules to below destinations:-

• FTP
• SFTP
• SMTP

Scheduing & Publishing reports to various formats including pdf, excel etc

Implementation of SSL for the tomcat

Provide user security as well as row level security to the Users

Creation and publishing complex web Intelligence reports for finance

Creating universe in Information Design Tool

Follow the complete life cycle process of universe design which include:-

• Generating Object Definition
• Creating Dimensions, measures etc
• Implementing connection layer
• Implementing Data foundation Layer
• Data testing

Use functions like @Aggregate_Aware to generate various objects from various aggregate tables

Create Contexts inorder to create different compatible business modules

Within the contexts, create multiple joins across fact tables and other tables

Validation of the joins through ER diagrams

Resolving loops:-

Analysis of Joins by creating sample queries in the universe and in BI Launchpad
