Fluid flow and heat transfer in HVAC systems (ANSYS Fluent)

  • optimized HVAC design and airflow for a 55,000-seat football stadium using ANSYS Fluent, ensuring SET and WBGT were maintained as per FIFA standards through steady-state simulations and wind tunnel analysis.
  • Conducted CFD simulations to model wind dispersion from chiller and VRF unit fans on a data center roof using ANSYS FLUENT, ensuring an intake temperature increase of 2-5°C, within acceptable limits performed.
  • CFD simulation of water flow on a roof with standing seams, gutters, and transfer pipes under peak rainfall intensity of 180 mm/hr using ANSYS Fluent It employs transient, multi-phase VOF with buoyancy effects and SST K-Omega turbulence model for accurate flow behavior analysis.
  • Utilized ANSYS FLUENT to simulate CO concentration in multiple car parks equipped with induction fans, optimizing ventilation to maintain safe air quality levels within the 25 ppm limit for CO.

Fire safety simulation for building evacuation (PyroSim)

M-Tech final year project (heat transfer enhancement using nanofluids in an elliptical micro-channel heat sink for electric vehicle battery cooling

  • studied heat transfer in a serpentine micro-channel heat sink around a 18650 lithium-ion battery using Cu and CuO-water nanofluids at varying concentrations and flow rates. Simulations in ANSYS FLUENT showed CuO-water at 1% concentration delivered the best performance.

B-Tech Final year Project (Automatic Solar Tracker)

  • A dual axis active automatic solar tracker prototype was built using Arduino Uno platform to harness maximum of the solar radiation. Two DC servo motors were used with the L293D motor driver, and five light-dependent resistors were used as sensors.
