• Good knowledge of private equity fund concepts, such as LP, GP, LPA, and onshore/offshore funds.
• Conceptual knowledge of the differences between hedge funds, private equity funds, and mutual funds.
• Processing of capstock transactions – subscriptions, redemptions, and reconciliation of share differences between accounting and client data, and correcting transactions if there are discrepancies.
• Preparing expense formulas and setup as per client requirements, and posting and reconciliation of expenses with offline recon.
• Reviewing trades and corporate actions that breached fund tolerance.
• Assisting processing teams with issues encountered while processing trades in different investments.
• Checking the price tolerance of securities and reporting to the upstream team for confirmation.

• Review all NAV components, verify the impacted NAV component, reach out to parties for necessary backup, and inform the client of the impact on the fund.
• Varied ad-hoc tasks, like posting journal entries, pending trade processing, month-end NAV movement, and assisting with client queries.
• Comparing fund benchmark movement with the benchmark provided by the client, and researching and providing information to the client if any fund moves against the benchmark.

• Learned the overall fund structure, including the roles of the General Partner (GP), Limited Partners (LPs), and fund administrators.
• Understanding capital activity, such as capital commitments, capital calls, and distributions.
• Learn to calculate and review Net Asset Value (NAV), and understand its components.
• Understanding accounting treatment for investments, including purchases, sales, dividend income, interest income, and unrealized or realized gains or losses.
• Learned expense allocation, management fees, and carried interest calculations.
