Leading five projects in Wärtsilä ODC (LTTS Vadodara) with twelve team members.
1. Wärtsilä 2-Stroke Services Switzerland team size: 3.
- 2-stroke drawings, migrations, and new retrofitting design solutions with 3D scan data as input.
- Experienced in leading projects that include 3D scanning of vessels at international ports, such as Busan and Singapore, and working on design solutions for pre-processed data.
- - Repair drawings for applying to vessel design solutions from existing assembled components, - control signals, and automation-related solutions.
- New design solutions replacing a few existing components on the vessel.
- Creating structural parts, like frames and stands, for new design arrangements and fixtures.
- Preparing sheet metal, welded and riveted covers; creating lifting and tooling parts for the assembly and disassembly of components.
- CN release and BOM preparations for all new and existing design changes.
- Conducting design review meetings internally, and presenting to the customer.
Various new tooling design preparations for lifting and mountings, with FEA results as proof of concept.
2. Wärtsilä 4-Stroke Large Bore Engines (Italy and Finland) Team Size: 3.
- Large-bore engine mechanical design solutions in all engine areas.
- Executing large-bore engine wiring and other automation design changes, reverse engineering tasks on large engine blocks, and coordinating with a cross-functional team, such as FEA, for successful part development.
- Doing final quality checks before task delivery.
- Ensure part and assembly drawings with respect to tolerance stack-up, clearances, GD&T, torque, drawing notes, and other aspects before the team starts the CN release process.
- Finalizing WA and GA design for structures, piping drawings, etc.
- Creating new concepts and validating them on all design and manufacturing aspects before presenting them to the customer.
- Creating sheet metal insulation parts for engine areas dealing with high-temperature surfaces for 'SOLAS' (Safety of Life at Sea).
- Creating lifting drawings for structural and other heavy parts, like engine blocks, oil sumps, cylinder heads, and whole engines.
- Experience with all fabricated assemblies involving welding.
- Responsible for design improvement and modification as per FEA results.
- Leading VAVE projects.
- CN release for all new and existing design changes.
3. Wärtsilä DFM & CGS Development (Finland) Team Size: 3.
- Responsible for engine assembly preparations in NX, according to the monthly engine production plan, and delivering to the TBOP team.
- Monitoring deliverables as per the scheduled customer plan for each month's production plans.
- Responsible for Teamcenter pre-release checks for each CN across the whole Wärtsilä engine developments.
- Responsible for Teamcenter Tool development - CGS (Configurable Global Structure for One Click BOM and Assembled 3D for the whole engine).
4. Wärtsilä 4-stroke Large Bore NX and other customization tool developments; team size: 2.
- NX customized tool developments as per customer requirements developed. Sheet metal automation tool – automatic rivets, rivet nuts according to mating sheet metal assembly, automatic PMI drawing creations, flat patterns, drawing notes, etc.
- Piping tool – automatic routed pipe creation, fitting selections, automatic drawings, notes, etc.
- Specific customer standard holes for machined parts.
- Automatic electrical connection tables.
e. Smart P&ID tool development for large-bore and medium-bore engines.
5. Quanti parts and Quanti serv Netherlands team size: 1.
- 3D models and NX/AutoCAD drawings from old PDF scans; all types of casting and forging components 3D model and its modifications as per customer requirements
- new casting and forging component developments for customer requirements.
