Replanted an amputated hand

  • The patient presented to us in trauma and emergency after 12 hours of traumatic amputation of his hand at wrist level while working with a machine in a factory Despite the late presentation and inappropriate preservation of the amputated part, we were able to replant and save the hand successfully I was the lead surgeon that day, and this became news in local print and electronic media when we discharged the patient after full recovery The link to the news is this.. https://youtu.be/WetxWUWHtdg?si=Pp4NIzd9jwujD4W4

Started major surgeries in rural hospital as Surgery specialist

  • I was posted in a rural hospital in Hazaribag in 2022 with limited surgical facilities, where every patient was usually referred to higher center. But I started doing major emergency surgeries after obtaining help from then authorities, using whatever limited resources we had. It was a news in local print media at that time.

Why I need this Fellowship?

  • I have been working and learning in Government hospitals in my country, where we are giving excellent service to a large number of patients, but with limited resources and a lack of advanced training. This fellowship will equip me with modern aspects of doing plastic surgeries from proficient surgeons who are best in the field. I can bring back the same and share with my colleagues and as a team we can apply those to our patients with bare minimum costs.
  • This fellowship if granted by RCSEd, will motivate more of my peers to apply for its membership as most of them don't yet know the initiatives and endeavours undertaken by this institution all over the world to help Surgeons in their training and practice.
  • I will always be indebted to RCSEd if selected for this scholarship for advanced training, as I work in a government hospital in India to serve the underprivileged with modest earnings. It will be a dream come true for me.
  • Thank you
