• Led a project addressing the use case of finding K nearest jobs from a candidate's location by computing the shortest road distance between the candidate's location and given job locations.
• Successfully did an end-to-end proof-of-concept (POC) on open-source road distance libraries and hosted an optimal solution tailored to the specific requirements of the use case.
• Developed a Java-based Spring Boot wrapper service utilizing the hosted API to determine the shortest road distance. This initiative resulted in a significant 90% cost reduction, saving $2000/month by seamlessly replacing the Google Distance Matrix API with the Road Distance API.
• Collaborated with external teams to drive the adoption of the application into production. Utilized SQL queries to generate insightful metrics, facilitating the identification of service metrics variations and pinpointing areas for enhancement.

Project: Location Standardization Service

• Managed an SBT project in Java focusing on location standardization. This service provides standardized city, state, and country values, along with latitude and longitude data using mappings from MongoDB, Elastic Search, and a third-party API.
• Did continuous data analysis to identify and address issues, led to a notable 5% improvement in data accuracy and a subsequent reduction in support tickets.
• Achieved a 10% increase in standardization and an 8% improvement in standardization with latitude and longitude. Implemented a feature providing state or country latitude-longitude data when city information was unavailable, leveraging state mappings in MongoDB.
• Leveraged Scala to generate metrics, monitoring service performance, and identifying opportunities for improvement in both accuracy and standardization percentages.
