I firmly believe that, for one to truly evolve as a professional and reach new heights, one should never stop learning. I am currently in a place where I have so much to learn from so many, and that's how I choose my places to be!
My activities under this role are :
1. Preparing FE Models for all types of standard Railway Bogies and associated components using Hypermesh v2019 (Hex-Meshing, Tet Meshing & Shell Meshing)
2. Linear Static, Fatigue, Dynamic and Non-Linear analysis using Optistruct on Railway Bogie Frame and associated components.
3. Preparing detailed FE Analysis reports for many major metro projects around the world.
4. Close interaction with Mechanical Design Engineers on design modifications, cost saving ideas, weight optimization and structural stability of the components.
5. Addressing manufacturing derogations by validating the components using FEA.
6. Identifying Strain Gauge & Rosettes mounting locations to extract experimental data.
7. Performing Damage Calculations on Bogie Frame Mounted and Axle Mounted Equipments.
8. Thorough understanding and application of European Standards for Railway Bogies and Wheelsets.
9. Working along with team lead in defining standard practices, improve work quality and develop cross-domain competences.
My activities under this role are :
1. Develop competency in the Finite Element Analysis domain to perform Linear Static, Fatigue & Dynamic Calculations of Railway Components.
2. Read and understand railway standards EN-12663, EN-13749, IEC-61373 etc., that define the load requirements for the Railway Components.
3. Hands-on training on Altair Hyperworks, a FE Modelling & Analysis software package required to carry out the tasks.
4. Attend training on various aspects of Railway Engineering and develop a holistic knowledge of the product.
5. Learn to interact with Mechanical Design Engineers.
Worked with the Finite Element Calculations Team of the Rolling Stock Engineering Center of Alstom in Bangalore as an intern. The second phase of my M. Tech. project was completed through this internship. I was assigned to work with the Bogie FEA team. My second phase Master's Thesis was on Static, Fatigue and Dynamic Analysis of Foot Support Structure using the commercial FE Package - Altair Hyperworks. After completing my internship, I joined in the same team as an employee.
Worked as a part-time educator for Mechanical Engineering Subjects. I had covered the subjects like Vector Mechanics, Theory of Machines. Through about 50+ videos that I have posted on the platform, I had a chance to interact with many eager learners and exchange knowledge. I have garnered more than 500 interested students and my profile has more than 15,000 views in the platform.
Underwent project training in Structures Group of the Indian Space Research Organisation Satellite Center located in Bengaluru as an Undergraduate for the final semester project work. Learnt MSC-Patran software as a part of the project requirement. The project was on the Static and Modal analysis of the Feed Support Structure using Finite Element Modelling.
