Projects: Packaging enhancement of Heavy Materials Currently working with our diverse suppliers for packaging enhancement of different heavy materials like Engines, main cab, Aux cab, Truck Combo etc to achieve quality product, reduce COPQ, and to streamline the process by using quality methodologies like DMAIC, 5why, etc DPU Reduction We reduced the DPU generated in paint shop which was a major contributor in plant DPU overall. Over 1.5 years, the Painting process has a very high defects generation & Impacting the Quality Metric of plant. We performed certain qc tools like fishbone diagram, 3x5 Why or Apollo for RCA purpose and after getting the RC we made a solution tree to tackle the problems and resolve the issues to reduce the overall DPU of paint shop. We were able to get down the DPU to 70 from 206 with the total savings of $55,133.65. 5s of Red Tag Area Development of Red tag area and allocation of spaces for dedicated products that were rejected in incoming Inspection area after being segregated from the good lot of products. Categorized rejected parts based on their defects/issues which helps in determining the appropriate disposition for each type of rejected parts. Each area was marked and labelled according to the products and type of defects. Supplier Development of Rad Cab weldment Worked closely with the supplier responsible for manufacturing these weldments on the flatness issue of the rad rack and Fan Pan of Rad cab and mitigated the issue. This likely involved communication to convey the specific issue and discuss potential solutions.
