Arkodeb Mukherjee

Arkodeb Mukherjee (born 13 September, 1990) is an Indian Cinematographer, known for telling stories with the play of light and shadow, realizing the vision of the narrative and executing the same with the optimal use of filmmaking tools. His craft dwells in painting with light, and creating a cinematic experience true to the nature of the narrative. He thrives in working with the use of natural light and textures, and enjoys creating challenging visuals. Being heavily influenced in Theatre Arts, he participated in a number of stage plays in high school and university, which sowed in him the seed of visual arts. Arko completed his masters in Photography from the Light and Life Academy, in 2013, under the tutelage of Iqbal K Mohammed, in the picturesque valleys of the Nilgiris, where he began his experiments with Natural Light, Lensing and Compositions. He finished his film education from Whistling Woods International, under the guidance of Subhash Ghai, which gave him focus and direction to shape his career in the art of Filmmaking.
