Summary

I have over 25 years of experience in Telecom Revenue Assurance and fraud management process designing, implementation and evaluation in a telecom operator environment. My experience to handle and control network data flows within the OSS & BSS environment of Telecom operators (Airtel India and Globacom Nigeria) gave me rare insights into areas of data/revenue loss and allowed me to define methods to eradicate them. I was directly responsible to set up the Revenue Assurance function/unit for both Airtel and Globacom and put in place a framework to ensure no Revenue loss. Over the years the RAFM(Revenue Assurance and fraud management) Unit in both operators became the nodal point for validation and security in setting up new processes/products or changes in existing processes. The job duties covered in more detail in the “Experience” section below. I am now seeking opportunities for Senior Managerial position with Telecom operators, Telecom vendors, Telecom Consultancy companies OR any industry to fully utilize my abilities and experience.

  • Job responsibilities included preventing instances of Operational revenue leakages, in the field of mobile and enterprise, interconnect(local and international), fixed lines, internet and mobile money operations.
  • Revenue Assurance tool selection and deployment .The tool covered network elements like MSCs,GMSC, gateways,GGSN,SGSN,SMSC,Enterprise Billing and Recharge system, IN billing and Recharge system, order management, Sim Registration system, Promo engine, Data volume accounting system(HSI-High speed system),Etop up Recharge system,Roaming,HLR.
  • Setting routines for inventory validation for recharge cards/sim cards in warehouse. This includes receipt/stocking/distribution across Nigeria and uploading in the prepaid and postpaid rating engines of stocks for E-voucher and testing of virtual voucher for prepaid and enterprise subscribers.
  • Validation of tariff tables and their configuration in the rating engines of prepaid /postpaid/international INTEC. Scrutiny of postpaid policies like payments,dunning and credit monitoring
  • Validation of configurations used for value added services egg: content based services for news etc. Also for services GPRS based services like WAP/internet for postpaid subscribers. E-mail, blackberry.
  • Data services like HSI/Pay as u Go,SMS/m-banking.
  • Validations and testing for new products in prepaid/postpaid and international destinations in gateway.
  • Clearance of billing for international call partners in interconnect
  • Validations for CNPs, TIERS, LCRs and trunks in interconnect for local and international interconnect
  • Validations for interconnect agreements and bank guarantees
  • Validations for billing for postpaid and roaming partners(inbound and outbound roaming)
  • Reporting on daily /monthly sales and revenues for prepaid/prepaid and interconnect gateways, areas of concern to management and keeping a tight control on revenues
  • Uploading of correct product prices of prepaid and postpaid products from head office for all GLO shops and GLOZone outlets in all of Nigeria.
  • Subscriber and CDR reconciliation for stopping revenue leakages in the areas of prepaid/postpaid call gateway/fixed line.
  • Some Major Migrations handled from a RA perspective:
  • 1. Alcatel PPS IN platform to Alcatel ICC IN platform
  • 2. Alcatel ICC IN platform to Nokia Surepay platform – 40+m subs and attributes
  • 3. Alcatel HLR to Huawei HLR – 25m+subs and attributes
  • 4. Integration and launch of 4G Data services with Huawei P gateway and PCRF rules governing subs and QOS parameters
  • 5. Updating and expanding HSI (high speed internet ) platform to accommodate more subs and requests also ensure that accurate accounting is done for volume allocation, usage and roll on
  • 6. Migrating the enterprise subs from BSCS platform to HUAWEI CBS IN platform together with their attributes. Ensuring the SIEBEL CRM and order management is correctly integrated with the Ent and billing system
  • 7. Migrating the CUG base from Alcatel ICC to Huawei CBS system – together with their attributes table-ensuring no billing or service leakage
  • 8. Migrating all blackberry subs to HSI platform on closure of the black berry plans
  • 9. Migrating International interconnect partner accounts, trunks and tariff from INTEC interconnect to Telarix system
  • 10. Migrating legacy mediation to Mediation zone(MZ) with all the rules affecting the activation, Sim, local interconnect, fraud management, MIS etc.
