As a Regional Operation Manager, my primary responsibility is to coordinate, monitor, and manage multiple branches within a particular geographic region. I provide guidance and support to individual branches to ensure that they are fully operational and their teams are performing effectively. Regular training and mentoring sessions are conducted for team members, and feedback is given to help them improve their performance.
Quarterly branch visits are conducted to monitor the performance of each branch and a structured visit report is published based on the observations made. I ensure that all processes and procedures are clear to all branches and clarifications are provided in consultation with other functional units in the bank, whenever required.
I have a strong understanding of statutes and regulations, including KYC adherence & AML alerts disposition, counterfeit currency, Mandatory Notices, Deceased Claim Handling, etc. I monitor critical GLs of mapped branches, aged un-reconciled items, un-processed transactions, etc. and guide branches in audit preparation and review previous audit reports, open issues, etc.
Active engagement with branch teams, specifically the Branch Operation Manager & CSO/Teller, is done to discuss and resolve any issues or observations noted during the review. I impart training on processes and new initiatives to branches, highlighting any open issues/observations at the branch level and action plans to ensure resolution and closure.
During my time as a Branch Operation Manager at HDFC Bank and Deputy Branch Manager at ICICI Bank, I gained valuable experience in managing day-to-day operations, leading teams, and driving business growth.
