PWM BIO reporting project is an in-house data and reporting solution centre. Business users from the
Private Wealth and Management (Consumer) portfolio of an American Bank approach the team
with expansive reporting and data needs, like creation of reports, dashboards, enhancing existing items
and streamlining existing analysis and reporting process by optimization and automation

Role : Analyst, Developer & tester

Tools: Cognos 10.1.1/10.2.2 Report Studio, Query Studio, Event Studio, Frame Work Manager, DB2

  • Requirement gathering process and client (user) interaction in order to extract and document accurate requirements in the form of Business Requirement Document (BRD).
  • The Data mapping document and the BRDs created were then used by the ETL to retire the legacy data source and model the new source system in line with the business user requirement.
  • Analysed the existing excel reports and created DB2 queries to test the data integrity and accuracy of the new source and then translated the queries into optimized cognos reports for the users.
  • Analyse the Report requirements, such as joins needed, business logics involving complex calculations, report filters through business requirement document.
  • Created metadata models, Namespaces, Folders, Query Subjects and Packages from Oracle data source using Cognos Framework Manager.
