Dam Break Analysis Using HEC-RAS for Urmodi Dam: A Case Study, In this work we proposed dam break analysis of Urmodi dam in Satara district using Hec-Ras software for worst case scenario. Various hydrologic quantities like Flood Hydrographs, Peak inundation and area under submergence was estimated which will be of great help in making disaster recovery plan/emergency action plan for the region in order to minimize the loss. The various results and the data generated from the output helps in determining the time required by various flood discharges to reach the downstream side of the dam. Thus the time required to reach a particular section being known, it helps in the process of formulation of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP). This in turn helps in saving the lives of people and livestock living in the endangered area.
