Professional Overview
As a consultant with extensive experience in three pediatric subspecialties—Pediatric Allergy and Pediatric Respiratory Medicine, Neonatology, and General Complex Pediatrics—I have dedicated over a decade to the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. I consider myself a clinician, medical educator, and researcher, currently serving as an Associate Professor at the College of Medical Sciences in Bharatpur, Nepal, one of the country's leading medical schools.
With a teaching career spanning 15 years, I have had the privilege of educating undergraduate students (MBBS), postgraduate students (MD), and subspecialty trainees (DM). My active involvement in curriculum development, review, and implementation has allowed me to significantly influence the educational landscape for future healthcare professionals. Additionally, as a senior faculty member, I serve as an examiner for both undergraduate and postgraduate university examinations, ensuring that high academic standards are upheld.
In my clinical responsibilities, I lead the Audit and Infection Prevention Committees, focusing on maintaining clinical standards and enhancing patient safety within our institution. My role as the regional pediatrician for SMILE TRAIN—an NGO under UNICEF dedicated to addressing cleft lip and palate cases—enables me to make a direct impact on the lives of vulnerable children in my community. I also actively participate in awareness programs organized by Save the Children and UNICEF, addressing critical issues such as vaccination and childhood obesity.
Among my clinical achievements, I established the Pediatric Allergy, Asthma, and Pulmonology department at our institution. I serve as an advisor for the Pediatric Pulmonology Chapter on the national committee and regularly present subspecialty topics at Continuing Medical Education (CME) events, promoting knowledge sharing among my peers. As an executive member of the SLIT Regulation and Implementation Committee, I contribute to refining treatment protocols and enhancing patient education within our field.
As a passionate researcher, I am a member of the Journal of College of Medical Sciences (JCMS), which is indexed in Medicus, Copernicus, DOAJ, and HINARI (WHO). My contributions to the field are reflected in my numerous publications.
In my role as a key figure in community awareness programs, I develop educational materials for parents and children and conduct school health programs. A recent initiative on sleep-disordered breathing and its impact on school performance has received notable recognition from the health department, underscoring my commitment to community health education.
