07/2022, Present, Principal Engineer, Machine Learning, Atlassian, Leading the AIOps initiative at Atlassian and helped in defining the technical strategy and vision for AI in IT Ops for JSM product. Leading a team of 30+ people in an initiative to connect data and users across Atlassian products to deliver a seamless experience to customers using premium AI features in JSM. Using Gen AI to implement smart ops agents for enhanced customer experience for alert grouping and noise reduction. Both of these features have been launched for consolidated JSM customers. 02/2021, 06/2022, Director, Machine Learning, HEAL Software Inc., Led a team (12+) of data scientists and data engineers across multiple geographies to build the next generation AIOps product. Played a pivotal role in the addition of the first 2 overseas AIOps clients resulting in additional revenue of 1 million+ USD; earned a mention in Forrester report for AIOps vendors. Designed state-of-the-art ML/DL models to solve real-life problems like anomaly detection, alert correlation, RCA, capacity planning, incident management etc. at scale. Worked with cross-functional teams like Pre-Sales, Product Delivery, Engineering and Product Management to define and approve new product features. Coordinated with pre-sales and product management to understand competition landscape and setting the product roadmap and vision with respect to AI/ML. Increased number of LinkedIn followers of HEAL by more than 500%. 10/2014, 02/2021, Senior Researcher, IBM Research Labs, India, Led a team of researchers and developers to develop AI based log monitoring solutions like anomaly detection, fault localization, RCA and trace mining. This work has already become an integral part of multiple IBM products like IToA-LA and Watson AIOps and has won multiple internal and external awards like OTAA (2016) and IRL Best Paper Award (2017). The work was also selected among Top-20 projects for IRL@20. Research lead for “Cognitive Assignment Engine” – which automates IT help desk functions like ticket creation, assignment, incident similarity and resolution. The engine uses a system of ensemble classifiers augmented with an innovatively designed rule engine for optimal accuracy and coverage. The solution was adopted by several international clients across multiple geographies and has served more than 3 million tickets in production. The work was later extended to include information extracted from other modalities like images. This work won the OTAA award (2017) and “Best Deployed AI” Award at IAAI-2019. Designed and implemented key functionalities for chatbot QA app for Lenovo which involved population of Knowledge Graph by extracting information and relationships from Wikipedia and Technical Reference Manuals. Also conceptualised, designed and implemented a generic benchmarking tool for evaluation of chatbot QAs. This work received Research Division Award(2019) and also won a contract of 240 million USD with Lenovo. Partnered with RedHat engineering team (research team of 5 selected globally across IBM Research Labs) to improve the runtime observability of cloud-native applications deployed on OpenShift Kubernetes Cluster. 04/2014, 10/2014, SDE-II, Amazon India Software Development India Pvt. Ltd., Worked briefly on the Amazon App Store Ingestion platform. 04/2009, 04/2014, Principal Engineer, Yahoo! Software Development India Pvt. Ltd., Technical Lead for a team which designed and deployed the next generation GSLB backend for Yahoo’s content delivery framework. The new solution used a predictive analytics-based algorithm replacing the previous static geo-based method. The new algorithm collected rtt measurements from clients across all geographical locations to Yahoo! datacenters and analyzed them offline to select the most optimal content server. This GSLB backend currently supports Flickr and Yahoo! Screen and had more than 10 million unique users globally at the time of production deployment. (Scrum Master/Tech Lead) Feature addition and maintenance of Yahoo! Traffic Management Software. 11/2006, 04/2009, Senior Member of Technical Staff, Juniper Networks (I) Pvt. Ltd, Developed new features for Netscreen Security Manager (NSM). In particular did optimizations on the NSM profiler query engine which made frequently used queries faster by a factor of 10x. 10/2004, 11/2006, Senior R&D Engineer, Synopsys (I) Pvt Ltd., Designed and developed new features for SystemVerilog & VCS-MX (simulator for mixed language designs). Most notable contribution was support for separate compilation of testbench with mixed designs (Verilog+VHDL). 07/2000, 08/2002, Asst. Systems Engineer, TCS, Designed hash table for storing 256K dynamic CICs (Circuit Identifier Code) in Nortel switch for optimal call routing.
