  • Joined the Group in November 2000 to lead the finance department. as ‘Manager Accounts & Finance’ and promoted as ‘Chief Financial Officer’ in 2005. In 2013, I have been promoted as ‘Chief Development Officer’ and ‘Chief Financial Officer’.
  • During this period handling operations of Carlson JV Company in India i.e
  • (i) Country Development & Management Services Pvt. Ltd., company involved in the franchise and management of “Country Inn & Suites By Carlson” brand in India.
  • (ii) Carlson Hospitality Marketing India Pvt. Ltd., Company incorporated to handle and provide sales & marketing and reservation services to Carlson hotels in India. The Company currently have nine regional sales offices across India.

  • Reporting to Managing Director. Key responsibilities:
  • Brand development - meeting with potential owner for brand tie-up, negotiations on commercial terms, Legal agreements, project implementation, vendor management etc.
  • Project cost controls, project cost budgeting, project MIS, debt funding, fund management.
  • Working closely with marketing head for marketing tie-ups, promotions, budgeting and marketing plans. Instrumental in launching loyalty program for bookers of Carlson hotel in India and setting up of toll-free reservation centre.

  • During this tenure, Group invested into another company, Tristar Hotels Pvt. Ltd with the vision of owning, developing and managing portfolio of Serviced Apartments and Hotels across India. Initially group planned to develop 9 serviced apartments including hotels in different cities. I was made responsible for putting the vision into financial model and business plan for the company. The company raised funds from private equity funds from overseas and term loan from bank. I was member of the committee of Board Members leading this project.
  • The group also ventured into owning and developing Serviced Apartment across India. As part of the executive committee leading the venture, created the business plan to develop 9 serviced apartments and secure funding from financial institution and raised private equity.
  • Directed budget development, budgetary controls and recordkeeping to make informed financial decisions.
  • Advised Board of Directors on strategic financial matters, providing insightful recommendations backed by thorough analysis.
  • Conducted detailed analysis of company financial information and oversaw preparation of related reports.
