Reading is a pleasure, reading is a challenge, and reading is a choice. Whether or not I wanted to read differed from time to time, but when I began to enjoy reading was at a young age. I loved books, and I loved reading for pleasure. Once I got into a book I enjoyed, I had to finish it by the same day I started it. When I had completed a book, I would reach for another, normally by the same author. My interest in literature hadn’t popped out of nowhere, it had spurted with picture books.
Young of age and still growing accustomed to the American language, simple, colourful, picture books were always put before my hands. I searched through the long row of picture book spines, and whipped out one that was recently gifted: a book made of thick, cardboard material which sparkled with a bit too much glitter on the cover. I loved how it sparkled, and the prickliness of the glitter. 

Looking back at the easy picture books I had enjoyed reading, they actually contained significant messages that I haven’t noticed before. The messages were quite inspiring notes such as if you spread the love and kindness, you would receive back the same love. I don 't think I have realized the importance and meaning that the author put behind the stories back then as clearly, but I remember I had some moments when after reading the books, I decided to put myself in their character and imagine what I would do in those scenarios. I would act how the character would act like and do in real-life.
