Work under progress

  • To identify and characterize the CAMTA and CBF genes in pennycress and determine their expression patterns in response to cold stress.
  • To determine the functional roles of CAMTAs and CBFs in pennycress cold tolerance by overexpressing or knockout these genes and measuring their effects on gene expression, physiological responses, and survival rates under freezing conditions.
  • To identify the upstream/downstream target genes and pathways involved in cold acclimation and freezing tolerance in pennycress.
  • Lipid profile analysis in fae1 and fad2 gene edited pennycress lines to understand their role in freezing stress tolerance in winter pennycress lines.
