Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Performance Evaluation Projects.
1. Thermal Performance Evaluation and Optimization: Utilized conjugate heat transfer (CHT) simulations to assess the thermal performance of a cylinder-head-liner assembly. Optimized the water jacket design for improved thermal efficiency and effective coolant flow distribution.
2 .Blowby System Performance and Optimization: Simulated the complete blowby gas path, including the pre-separator, crankcase ventilation, and pressure control unit. Predicted system behavior under various operating conditions, and implemented design modifications to reduce pressure drop and improve gas/oil separation efficiency.
3. Marine CFD – Hull Resistance under Wave Conditions: Conducted multiphase transient simulations with a dynamic mesh to evaluate added resistance on a vessel hull under different wave profiles. Extracted heave and pitch data for stability and performance assessment.
4. Water Jet Inlet Optimization: Performed CFD simulations to determine the optimum surface roughness at the water jet inlet for minimizing pressure losses. Initial methodology development through 2D simulations, validated against the Moody chart. Extended to 3D simulations for full-scale evaluation, and reported findings to Manufacturing Engineers for surface treatment, and production adjustments.
