As a Substation Technician Apprentice, I have developed a wide range of skills through hands-on experience and daily responsibilities. I am responsible for maintaining tools and materials, which has strengthened my organizational skills and attention to detail. My routine duties include maintaining cleanliness in the job trailer, organizing tool trailers, and handling general site upkeep.

On the technical side, I have gained practical experience in rigging, laying conduit, running ground wires, and installing ground grids. I have successfully performed temporary grounding of transformers and assisted in pulling cable from MSG buildings to transformers. These tasks have deepened my understanding of the electrical systems and procedures used in substation construction and maintenance.

This role has equipped me with a broad skill set and extensive knowledge in the field. I am familiar with various tools and materials specific to substation work and have built strong communication and teamwork skills through daily collaboration with crew members. Additionally, I am proficient in operating equipment such as a telehandler, manlifts, and skid steers.

Safety is a core value in my work. I have been trained extensively in field safety protocols and have learned to prioritize safety, especially when working near or on energized equipment. My experience has taught me to approach every task with caution and awareness, ensuring both my safety and that of my team.

As a Tree Trimmer at Whitledge Tree Service, I performed tree trimming, shaping, removal, and stump grinding with precision while strictly adhering to safety standards. I operated chainsaws and other cutting equipment efficiently across various worksite conditions and utilized rigging techniques to safely remove limbs and trees in challenging environments. My role required operating a bucket truck to access elevated areas, ensuring safe and effective tree maintenance. Throughout this position, I maintained strong situational awareness, upheld all safety protocols, and developed solid organizational and communication skills through close collaboration with crew members. I consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
