  • Provide the feasible buffer stop solution such that the peak forces during the collision doesn’t cause stroking of any non-recoverable energy absorption devices on the train using Oleo’s Digital Trains software based on the inputs provided by the customer which include mass of the train, max impact speed, energy absorption devices on the rolling stock etc.
  • Perform multiple iterations of non-linear analysis to ensure the stresses in the buffer stop frame are under yield value of the material used and deformation in the track due to the uplift forces is less than 0.2% plastic strain and not protruding into the web section.
  • Check for the deformation tubes and crushing elements for required energy absorption in a controlled manner.
  • Have frequent review meetings with design dept. after each iteration.
  • Meshing, model setup, post-processing and report generation for each iteration.
  • Perform impact analysis for the sliding hydraulic and fixed hydraulic buffer stops.
  • Optimize the buffer stop frame to reduce the mass.
  • Induction, training and monitoring of new joined freshers.

Internship & Project

  • Internship at VOLVO CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT PVT LTD. in July 2016 and worked on hydraulic leakages in excavator. Using pareto analysis, it was observed that by solving 20% of the causes 80% of the problems reduced, which further reduced the time taken in replacing the parts.
  • Project on “DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF MASTER PIN INSERTION FIXTURE OF AN EXCAVATOR”, which was undertaken and executed at VOLVO CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT PVT LTD. The main objective of the project was to eradicate the unsafe environment during master pin insertion. It eliminates the human involvement in aligning the master pin and inspection. This fixture was successfully implemented in the production line. This improved the safety and also reduced the time taken for the insertion as a by-product.
