Transfer Pricing Assessments

• Drafted submissions and represented clients from various sectors like Software and IT enabled services, manufacturing and trading of automobiles, industrial machinery, apparels, etc. before Transfer Pricing Officer in India
• Drafted grounds of contention and assisted clients to file detailed summary of Transfer Pricing audits with the Commissioner of Income Tax Appeals / Dispute Resolution Panel / Income Tax Appellate Tribunal for additional tax relief

Center of Excellence - was instrumental in building and managing a Center of Excellence to support Deloitte offices located in India. My roles and responsibilities included;

• Recruited team of resources, training and getting them on board to support Deloitte offices in India;
• Drafted position papers on approach to Comparability analysis, treatment of operating and non-operating line items, margin computation using Annual Reports, etc;
• Developed and maintained an internal database of companies with qualitative information captured from Annual Reports and Company websites;
• Rolled out standard comparable searches for Transfer Pricing Documentation and Advance Pricing Agreement purposes, that are used pan-India. This also included taking positions on application of quantitative filters in consultation with Partners and Directors;
• Prepared standard Industry overviews and standard responses to Show Cause notices issued by Transfer Pricing Officers;
