Summary

With over 12 years of experience as a Scientific Officer, I have a proven track record in design, development, qualification, installation & commissioning of mechanical/electromechanical components, coordinating & managing the design reviews, documentation, interface management, review of engineering and manufacturing deliverables for Indian Test Facility (INTF) and ITER components. One of my biggest achievements was the indigenous development of Porcelain based 100 kV large size (~1m) complex feedthrough of INTF.

  • Assembly and manufacturing assessment with issues identification and remedial plan of ITER DNB HVB
  • Interface management of INTF BS, HVB and TL interfaces.
  • Development of Porcelain Ring-Sub Assembly (of diameter ~1m and height 530mm) with metal flanges transition. This required several prototyping & testing activities to ensure the right material selection and assembly methodology.
  • Specifications development for the INTF components, procurement activities, review of manufacturing drawings & documents, managing and coordinating the contract activities with the contractor
  • Thermostructural assessment of Ceramic-Metal brazed joint for residual stress assessment using ANSYS and validation of the results using XRD technique on sample.
  • Indigenous development of RF vacuum barrier using brazing method as a part of fusion technology development in collaboration with other lab.

  • Successful design, development and demonstration of 50 kV prototype HVB and 100 kV INTF HVB
  • Led the System Integration Review (SIR) of BS, HVB and TL of ITER DNB, involving complex interfaces, and successful completion
  • Indigenous development of fully brazed 3 1/8" size RF vacuum barrier in collaboration with Non Ferrous Technology Development Centre (NFTDC), Hyderabad.
  • Technology development & realization of prototype Plasma Grid(PG) segment using Electron Beam Welding.
