• As DPA self reports to Managing Director for all matters related to HSEQ-Risk
• Am responsible with my team of 5 members( 2 mangers 2 training supdts and 1 executive) for overseeing the HSEQ-Risk and compliance matters for the entire fleet of 15 Bulkers and 2 cruise ships and also have a functional reporting line to the BOD as required by the ISM code.
• Develop/Utilize Risk Management framework for the HSEQ-Risk business unit supported by internal processes and department self-assessment
• Reduce Incidents that have bearing on Company's objective, by undertaking Incident Investigation and Root Cause analysis and deploying preventive measures
• Analyze Incidents, CAR's, Insurance claims and share findings to enhance loss prevention by issue of bulletins, circulars and safety videos.
• Review & development of Safety & Quality Management System
• Ensure up-to-date information is circulated and available throughout organization
• All Flag & Class statutory - certification related to ISM/ISPS/MLC completed in good time
• Flag state inspection completed in good time
• D&A tests carried out in good time
• NTVRP/Californian Plans updated & available for vessel trading to USA.
• Vessel operating within approved OPEX assigned to the vessel for HSEQ and Risk areas.
• Timely submission of Monthly KPI's & Board Reports
• Oversee maintaining & timely submission of Insurance claims liaising with other business units
• Utilization of Project Management initiatives - for ongoing projects related to HSEQ-Risk matters
• Review & development of Safety & Quality Management System
• Ensure up-to-date information is circulated and available throughout organization
• Ensure vessel are prepared for external audits & flag inspections.

• Reporting to the DPA on various Safety and Training issues besides monitoring training standards in the company
• Review and updates to existing programs, development of new programs
• Other functions as below being carried out for the Company
• Effective implementation and maintenance of the Company's Safety Management System
• Response to Masters Review on behalf of DPA
• Accident/incident investigations and reports
• Conduct both shipboard and shore internal audits of the Safety Management System
• Schedule and direct Safety Management System planning for shipboard audits and investigate non-conformances with vessel Masters and superintendents
• Conducting on-board training per standard OBT list inc of observed gaps noted during the attendance for audits/Inspections
• Ensuring that all marine safety and environmental policies are carried out in accordance with International regulations and Company procedures
• Mentoring of deck officers and command candidates as required by Company's SMS
• Investigating accidents/Incidents and fleet reporting
• Supporting Management on any shipboard issues by providing feedback and suggestions on various issues/matters
• Internal Auditor-DNV certified , lead auditor.

• Reporting to the DPA/Senior Management on various issues besides below functions being carried out for the Company
• Effective implementation and maintenance of the Company's Safety Management System
• Conduct both shipboard and shore internal audits of the Safety Management System
• Schedule and direct Safety Management System planning for shipboard audits and investigate non-conformances with vessel Masters and superintendents
• Identify training requirements with respect to ship/shore based personnel involved with the Safety Management System
• Conducting onboard training per standard OBT list inc of observed gaps noted during the attendance for audits/Inspections
• Maintenance and upgrading Safety Management System to cover new company and International regulations
• Ensuring that all marine safety and environmental policies are carried out in accordance with International regulations and Company procedures
• Investigating accident reports investigating and reporting on vessel incidents
• Supporting Management on any shipboard issues by providing feedback and suggestions on various issues/matters
• Internal Auditor-DNV certified , lead auditor.

As Master onboard various bulk carriers was is in charge of all aspects of a ship's operation, both at sea and in port . duties include:

• Safety: Ensuring the safety of the passengers, cargo, and the ship. This includes following safety regulations and ensuring compliance with maritime laws.
• Marine environment: Protecting the marine environment.
• Route planning: Planning and executing the ship's route.
• Maintenance and repairs: Ensuring that maintenance and repairs are carried out.
• Emergency operations: Overseeing any emergency operations.
• Cargo handling: Supervising cargo handling, including ensuring safe loading and unloading.
• Deck crew: Directing the activities of the deck crew.
• Budget: Managing the ship's budget and expenditure.
