  • Leveraged interpersonal and communication skills to work cross functionally with other departments
  • Contributed to and actively participated in research conception, design and execution to address defined problems on development of RNA ligands that can bind to and modify the cardiac targets to develop novel cardiovascular therapy
  • Developed unique research into development of stem cell models to develop RNA aptamers
  • Handled multiple human primary cell lines with ease

Graduate Student

Pohang University of Science and Technology
Pohang
09.2013 - 02.2020
  • Assisted with writing and editing experimental results for publication in journals.
  • Set-up Baculovirus-insect cell line in the lab for large scale protein purification of the eukaryotic proteins.
  • Collaborated with academic colleagues from Chemistry and Engineering on areas of shared research interest such as using Quantum dots for development of more sensitive read-out techniques and development of electrochemical biosensors using novel bio-chip mechanism.
  • Invested passion and commitment toward corporate vision by developing a Lateral flow based point of care device for detection and sub-typing of Influenza A viruses which was submitted for a patent.
  • Conducted thorough literature reviews to better understand research topics and prepare for studies regarding development of DNA based aptamers for diagnostics following correct protocols for study integrity.
  • Helped senior personnel develop sound research protocols and procedures and also help with the manuscript editing.
  • Prepared summaries of research data for use in high-level International meetings and presentations (Russia and France).
  • Leveraged interpersonal and communication skills to mentor PhD, graduate and undergraduate students. Have been a teaching assistant for 3 semesters.

Assistant Research Scientist-II

AstraZeneca India Ltd
Bangalore
09.2010 - 08.2013
  • Performed research into study topics to increase knowledge and to provide valuable contributions in the field of development of drugs for tuberculosis in a BSL-3 working environment.
  • Developed HTS based cell proliferation assay and luminescence based assay to improve the cycle time and efficiency of the cellular assays and component studies.
  • Cellular assays included cytotoxicity assay which proved extremely important at the initial research stage to identify problematic compounds which otherwise would go ahead and fail in the later stages for their cytotoxicity issues even though they are antimycobacterial, thereby saving millions of dollars to the company and proliferation assays MICs MBCs, Kill Kinetics assays, resistant mutant studies.
  • Performed SSCP assays, Site directed mutagenesis studies to check for the mutations in the mycobacterium cultures on treatment with the investigational compounds.

Research Associate

Enzene Biosciences Pvt Ltd
Bangalore
07.2009 - 08.2010
  • Gathered and arranged data on poultry samples suspected for flu infection using PCR techniques to create representative graphs and charts highlighting results for presentations.
  • Helped seniors to develop biology student kits for schools and colleges.
  • Have represented the company in conferences as a part of marketing team.
