Summary

Owing to meticulous planning and foresight, thorough knowledge in materials and man management and experience in dealing with civil administration specially in land related cases, vehicle management, I was tasked to raise three “new raising units” ie two units in Corps of signals and one was in Infantry Battalion with state of art surveillance and fire power equipments apart from providing logistic cover to the troops of strength upto ten thousand.

I performed duties of “Station Staff Officer” in Counter Insurgency area in Srinagar during the period from April 2004 to March 2007 in which gained the experience in dealing with various organization, such as civil administration, central and state para military forces including revenue authority.

  • Responsible for managing the supply chain to ensure that troops have the necessary equipment, ammunition, food, fuel, and other supplies needed for operations. This involves forecasting requirements, procurement, storage, and distribution of supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, monitoring consumption rates, and ensuring that there are adequate supplies to meet operational needs while avoiding excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Oversee the transportation of supplies and equipment to various locations, including military bases, forward operating bases, and deployment areas. Coordinate the movement of personnel and materials by air, land, and sea.
  • Involved in managing facilities such as warehouses, depots, and storage areas to ensure that supplies are stored securely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Involved in budgeting for logistics operations, monitoring expenses, and optimizing resource allocation to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Work closely with other units within the military, such as operations, intelligence, and engineering units, to ensure that logistical support is provided in a timely and effective manner to support mission requirements.
