  • Toll bypass Network is Accenture private voice network to support the Call centre and BPO voice requirements
  • The network is with 4 on shore POPs (Points of Presence) and 6 Offshore POPs in India
  • This network is built primarily on Nortel MSS 7480 and Avaya S8720 PBX systems to gain the advantage of compression features offered by Nortel Passport using G.729 coding technique
  • This network is moderately complex, inter connecting all POPs using IPLCs, DS3, T1, E1 Intercity and Intra City circuits
  • The endpoints are both TDM and VoIP phones
  • The Offshore infrastructure also comprises of voice loggers (for quality Monitoring) and WFM tools for operations management support
  • The Infrastructure also comprises of Peripheral Gateways (PGs), T servers, CT devices to ensure proper call routing mechanisms in place for different projects
  • The Major accomplishment in this role is to take the control of different Projects infrastructure components, combine them, and optimize the Utilization of various resources (bandwidth, concurrent call paths etc) and reduce the operational cost
  • This task was successfully achieved by being Part of core team for this GOAL

My Role:

  • Manage team of 32 employees including one on shore employee from US
  • Manage day to day operations, manage SLA, P1 calls, RCA, Incident, Change and Release Management
  • Manage Budget and Recoveries
  • Exit costs
  • Report monthly dashboards and SLA metrics
  • Ongoing recruitment and HR activities as appropriate
  • Budgetary support for ongoing Ramp up/Ramp Down plans of Projects
  • Vendor negotiations for Bandwidth, Maintenance contracts, and related documentation work
  • Projects Handled:
  • Network Infrastructure optimization and expenses are reduced by 33% from initial cost
  • New CMS servers added in HA mode to handle high volumes of business reporting
  • New MPL (Managed Private Lines) were added by replacing IPLCs of one of the major carriers
  • This exercise was completed with minimum down time
  • New costing and design were prepared and documented for migrating to MPLS back bone leveraging the current infrastructure in place
  • Various possible design options and costings were arrived for setting a new call centre at Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • The current design at UK POP was changed and as per new design, the PBX was eliminated from network to save on operational costs
  • This project was successfully completed after several tests and closing technical issues encountered
  • Worked closely with Nortel and C&W to accomplish this task per plan
  • A new POP in UK was setup to provide resiliency option to one of the major projects
  • This task was completed per plan and within budget estimated
  • The TBP team was formed to handle 9 projects and the same team provided operational support for 32 projects
